What Makes a Song Unique?

Hello! Can I tell you something? You’re famous.

Well, you may be a famous actress from one of my favorite TV shows and you’re looking at this post right now or you may just be an average teenage girl. Famous or not, I just want to say hi. *waves wildly*

Let’s just say that you are famous and you want to make your first ever song. Well, what makes a song unique?

Is it the way the drum beats or the way the guitar strums? Is it the way the person sings? Well, it may be a whole lot more.

When you listen to different songs on the radio from different genres, they all sound different. Why is that? First of all, they are different genres. Listen to Forever In Your Mind’s song “Hurricane.” Then, listen to Fall Out Boy’s song “Immortals.” How are they different? They sound different.

See? That is what makes music catchy. Every piece of music is unique. Every artist is unique. Not one artist is the same. Everybody has their own thing. Your’s may be juggling alligators on the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa while mine’s is sitting on a yoga ball playing video games all day and night.

You get what I’m saying? Me and you are different. That is what makes us special.

Every single artist is special. We are all unique in our own special ways. The way somebody sings is different from the way another person sings. If you look at two different artists, you see that they are completely different. Look at Sofia Carson and Hunter Hayes. What do they have in common?

Sofia Carson:

Have you figured out the answer yet? I’m just really curious.

If you haven’t, that is perfectly fine. What I am trying to point out is that they are completely different. They are artists with a love for music. Even though Sofia sings pop and Hunter sings country, they love to make people happy with their music.

Now, I am leaving the subject of being different. Just remember that it is okay to be different.

Every piece of music is unique. It could be happy and it could make you want to dance. It could be sad and it could want to make you cry. It could be mad and it could make you want to slam your fist into the wall.

Don’t slam your fist into the wall. That would be bad. Trust me. I’ve never done it before, but it is not pretty.

Take your time and listen to these two songs, “Fly” by Maddie & Tae and “Just like Fire” by P!NK. They are two totally different songs, but they make you feel something.

So, are you an artist with a passion? Comment down your passion below whether it is music or something out of the blue. I would love to know your passion. Thank you all for stopping by and I hope that this post inspired you.
